- Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish
- Water - 100 ml
Steps
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Let them splutter for a few seconds.
- Add diced bottle gourd (lauki) to the pan and stir well.
- Sprinkle in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
- Add water to the pan, cover, and let it cook for about 10-12 minutes until the lauki is tender.
- Once cooked, remove the lid and add garam masala, stirring well to combine.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the excess water evaporates.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
