- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - 300 milliliters
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish
Steps
- Heat coconut oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and ginger to the pot, cooking for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the tomato paste, cooking for 2-3 minutes to develop the flavors.
- Add the cumin, coriander, garam masala, turmeric, red chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine the spices with the onion mixture.
- Add the cubed lamb to the pot, browning the meat on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the water, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 40-45 minutes, or until the lamb is tender.
