Ingredients

  • Almond flour - 1 cup
  • Water - 1.5 cups
  • Ghee - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon (optional)

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, bring 1.5 cups of water to a boil.
  2. In a separate pan, heat ghee over medium heat and add cumin seeds, allowing them to crackle.
  3. Add the chopped green chili, grated ginger, and minced garlic to the ghee, sautéing for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the salt, black pepper, and coriander powder, mixing well.
  5. Gradually add almond flour to the boiling water, stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
  6. Once the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan (about 5-7 minutes), remove from heat.
  7. Fold in the sautéed spices from the ghee mixture into the thickened almond flour mixture until well combined.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and a drizzle of lemon juice if desired.
