Ingredients

  • Bitter gourd (karela) - 200 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Wash the bitter gourd thoroughly and slice it thinly, discarding the ends.
  2. In a bowl, combine the sliced bitter gourd with salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the slices evenly.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture and add lemon juice. Toss again to ensure all slices are well coated.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  5. Spread the seasoned bitter gourd slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping the chips halfway through, until they are crispy and golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
