- Yogurt (unsweetened) - 50g
- Water - 100ml
- Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Ginger paste - 1 tsp
- Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 (optional)
- Oil - 1 tbsp (for greasing)
- Pizza sauce - 4 tbsp (low-carb, sugar-free)
- Mozzarella cheese (shredded) - 100g
- Bell peppers (diced) - 50g
- Onion (finely chopped) - 50g
- Black olives (sliced) - 20g
- Oregano - 1/2 tsp
- Fresh basil leaves - for garnish
Steps
- In a bowl, mix besan, yogurt, water, baking soda, salt, turmeric powder, ginger paste, and green chili until smooth to create a batter.
- Grease a round cake pan with oil and pour the batter into it, spreading evenly.
- Steam the batter in a steamer or a large pot with water for about 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Once steamed, let it cool slightly and then cut the dhokla into pizza-like wedges.
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).
- Place the dhokla wedges on a baking tray and spread pizza sauce over each piece.
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese, diced bell peppers, chopped onions, and sliced black olives.
- Sprinkle oregano over the top and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and serve hot.
