- Roasted chana dal - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Coconut oil - 1 tablespoon
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Dried red chili - 1, whole
Steps
- In a blender, combine the grated coconut, green chilies, ginger, roasted chana dal, lemon juice, cilantro, and salt. Blend until smooth, adding a little water if necessary to achieve desired consistency.
- Heat coconut oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and allow them to splutter.
- Add the whole dried red chili to the pan and sauté for a few seconds, then pour the tempering over the blended coconut mixture.
