Ingredients
- Black chickpeas (Kala Chana) - 100 grams
- Coconut (grated, fresh) - 30 grams
- Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Curry leaves - 10 leaves
- Salt - to taste
- Coconut oil - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Soak the black chickpeas in water for 8 hours or overnight.
- Drain and rinse the soaked chickpeas, then cook them in boiling water for about 15 minutes until tender but not mushy. Drain and set aside.
- In a pan, heat coconut oil over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add cumin seeds, green chili, ginger, and curry leaves to the pan. Sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the cooked chickpeas to the pan and mix well. Season with salt and stir for another 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the grated coconut and lemon juice. Mix well to combine.
- Serve warm or at room temperature as a healthy snack.
