Ingredients

  • Cabbage - 200 grams, finely shredded
  • Fresh grated coconut - 50 grams
  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green chilies - 2, slit
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Curry leaves - 8-10 leaves
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil (coconut or olive) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and add mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  2. Add the finely chopped onion, green chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté until the onion turns translucent.
  3. Stir in the turmeric powder and mix well.
  4. Add the shredded cabbage and salt to the pan. Mix everything thoroughly.
  5. Cover the pan and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
  6. Once the cabbage is cooked, add the grated coconut and mix well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and serve hot.
