- Okra - 250 grams
- Oil (coconut or olive) - 2 tablespoons
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Wash the okra thoroughly and pat it dry with a towel. Trim the ends and cut them into 1-inch pieces.
- Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Let them splutter for a few seconds.
- Add the chopped okra to the pan and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they start to soften.
- Stir in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and sauté for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the okra is cooked and slightly crispy, add garam masala and mix well. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat, add lemon juice and chopped cilantro, and give it a gentle mix before serving.
