Ingredients

  • Paneer - 200 grams
  • Mustard oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Fennel seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Nigella seeds (kalonji) - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Green chili - 1, slit
  • Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. Cut the paneer into cubes and set aside.
  2. In a pan, heat the mustard oil over medium heat until it starts to smoke slightly.
  3. Add the cumin seeds, fennel seeds, nigella seeds, and fenugreek seeds to the hot oil. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt, mixing well.
  5. Add the slit green chili and paneer cubes to the pan, gently tossing to coat them in the spice mixture.
  6. Cook for 5-7 minutes, allowing the paneer to absorb the flavors and become slightly golden.
  7. Sprinkle the garam masala over the paneer and mix well.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh coriander leaves, and serve hot.
