Kesar Peda
Kesar Peda is a rich and aromatic Indian dessert made from khoya, flavored with saffron and cardamom. These soft, melt-in-your-mouth pedas are perfect for celebrating special occasions or indulging in a sweet treat.

Ingredients
- Khoya - 100 grams
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Saffron strands - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 1 tablespoon
- Chopped nuts (pistachios and almonds) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Heat the ghee in a non-stick pan over low heat.
- Add the khoya and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring continuously until it softens.
- Dissolve the saffron strands in 1 tablespoon of warm milk and add it to the khoya.
- Add the sugar and cardamom powder to the khoya mixture, stirring well until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Cook the mixture for another 5-7 minutes until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- Remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly.
- Once cool enough to handle, grease your palms with ghee and shape the mixture into small round balls or discs.
- Garnish each peda with a sprinkle of chopped nuts.
- Let them cool completely before serving.
