Steps
- Soak the cashew nuts in warm water for about 15 minutes, then drain and blend them into a smooth paste using a little water if necessary.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water, and bring to a boil until the sugar dissolves completely to form a syrup.
- Add the saffron strands to the syrup and let them steep for a minute to release their color and flavor.
- Stir in the cashew paste into the syrup, and cook on low heat, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
