Ingredients
- Fish (King Fish or Pomfret) - 300 grams
- Lemon Juice - 2 tablespoons
- Turmeric Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Red Chili Powder - 2 teaspoons
- Garam Masala - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Coconut Oil - 4 tablespoons
- Fresh Curry Leaves - 10 leaves
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 inch piece, minced
Steps
- Clean the fish and make shallow cuts on both sides to help the marinade penetrate.
- In a bowl, combine lemon juice, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, salt, minced garlic, and minced ginger to form a marinade.
- Rub the marinade all over the fish, ensuring it gets into the cuts, and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat coconut oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Once hot, add the curry leaves and allow them to splutter for a few seconds.
- Carefully place the marinated fish in the pan and fry for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the fish from the pan and place it on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
- Serve hot with lemon wedges and your choice of side.
