Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 200 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 inch, grated
  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Whole wheat flatbreads (like chapati or roti) - 2
  • Yogurt - 4 tablespoons (for serving)
  • Sliced cucumber and tomato - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green chili, cilantro, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a long kebab.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the kebabs and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
  4. While the kebabs are cooking, warm the flatbreads on a separate pan or griddle for about 1-2 minutes until soft.
  5. Once the kebabs are done, place each kebab on a warm flatbread. Top with yogurt and garnish with sliced cucumber and tomato.
  6. Roll the flatbread around the kebab tightly and secure it with a toothpick if needed. Serve immediately.
