Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 400 grams, boneless and cut into cubes
  • Thick yogurt - 100 grams
  • Fresh cream - 50 grams
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Skewers - 4 (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes)

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine thick yogurt, fresh cream, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, cardamom powder, and salt. Mix well until smooth.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and coat thoroughly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for best flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat (about 200°C/400°F).
  4. Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers, leaving some space between each piece for even cooking.
  5. Brush the skewers with oil to prevent sticking and place them on the grill or in the oven.
  6. Grill the kebabs for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally until they are cooked through and have a nice char. Ensure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 75°C (165°F).
  7. Once cooked, remove from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  8. Serve hot with mint chutney, lemon wedges, and sliced onions.
