Ingredients
- Chickpeas - 200 grams (cooked)
- Potato - 100 grams (boiled and mashed)
- Red onion - 1 small (finely chopped)
- Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons (chopped)
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Breadcrumbs - 1/4 cup
- Oil - for shallow frying
- Burger buns - 2
- Mint chutney - 2 tablespoons
- Tomato - 1 (sliced)
- Lettuce leaves - 2
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chickpeas and boiled potato. Mash them together until smooth.
- Add the chopped red onion, coriander leaves, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
- Gradually add breadcrumbs to the mixture until it holds together well. Form the mixture into two patties.
- Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the patties in the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns lightly on another pan or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burger by spreading mint chutney on the bottom half of the bun, placing the lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, and then topping it with sliced tomatoes.
- Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
