Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour - 150 grams
  • Boneless chicken breast - 200 grams
  • Greek yogurt - 100 grams
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Capsicum (bell pepper) - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Cilantro leaves - a handful, chopped
  • Green chili - 1, chopped (optional)
  • Chaat masala - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, a pinch of salt, and water to form a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix Greek yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, lemon juice, and salt to create a marinade.
  3. Cut the chicken breast into thin strips and marinate it in the yogurt mixture for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until fully cooked and slightly browned, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat.
  5. In the same pan, add the remaining olive oil and sauté the sliced onions, capsicum, and green chili until they are soft but still crunchy, about 5 minutes. Mix in the cooked chicken and chopped cilantro. Sprinkle chaat masala on top and mix well.
  6. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and roll each part into a thin circle (about 8 inches in diameter). Cook each paratha on a hot tawa or skillet until golden brown on both sides, brushing with a little oil if desired.
  7. Place the chicken and vegetable filling in the center of each paratha and fold it over to wrap the filling. Serve hot with green chutney or yogurt.
