Ingredients

  • Lamb or beef mince - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 inch, grated
  • Yogurt - 100 grams
  • Kashmiri red chili powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Coriander leaves - a handful, chopped
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon, for toasting buns
  • Lettuce - 2 leaves
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Onion - 1 small, sliced into rings

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the minced lamb or beef with yogurt, Kashmiri red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  2. Heat a pan over medium heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Sauté the chopped onions until they are translucent.
  3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the marinated meat to the pan and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the meat is cooked through and tender.
  5. Once cooked, stir in the chopped coriander leaves and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. While the meat is cooking, toast the burger buns in butter until golden brown.
  7. To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a generous portion of the Rogan Josh mixture, sliced tomatoes, and onion rings. Top with the other half of the bun.
  8. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
