  • Kashmiri red chili powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - 200 ml
  • Fresh coriander - for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the pureed tomato and cook for 5-7 minutes until the oil separates from the mixture.
  5. Mix in the Kashmiri red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and salt, cooking for another 2 minutes.
  6. Reduce the heat and slowly add the whisked yogurt, stirring continuously to prevent curdling.
  7. Add water to achieve the desired gravy consistency and bring to a gentle simmer.
  8. Cut the paneer into cubes and add them to the gravy, cooking for an additional 5-7 minutes until the paneer is heated through.
  9. Sprinkle garam masala over the dish and mix gently.
  10. Garnish with fresh coriander before serving hot.
