- Potatoes - 300 grams
- Green peas - 100 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Rice flour - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Oil - for shallow frying
Steps
- Boil the potatoes until soft, then peel and mash them in a mixing bowl.
- Boil the green peas until tender, then mash them lightly and add to the bowl with the potatoes.
- In a pan, heat a little oil and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown, then add the grated ginger and chopped green chili. Cook for another minute.
- Add the sautéed onion mixture to the mashed potatoes and peas, followed by cumin powder, garam masala, rice flour, chopped coriander leaves, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into round patties.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the patties in the pan, cooking until golden and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the tikkis from the pan and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve hot with your choice of chutney.
