Ingredients

  • Ragi flour - 100 grams
  • Water - 400 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ghee or oil - 1 tablespoon (optional)
  • Vegetable side dish or curry - as needed

Steps

  1. In a large pot, bring 400 ml of water to a boil.
  2. Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to medium and add 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  3. Gradually add 100 grams of ragi flour to the boiling water, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  4. Cook the mixture for about 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently until it thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the pot.
  5. Once cooked, remove from heat and let it cool for a couple of minutes.
  6. With wet hands, shape the ragi mixture into round balls (approximately the size of a tennis ball).
  7. Serve the ragi mudde warm with your choice of vegetable side dish or curry, drizzled with ghee or oil if desired.
