Ingredients

  • Ragi flour - 200 grams
  • Water - 600 ml
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ghee (optional) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a large saucepan, bring 600 ml of water to a boil and add 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  2. Once the water is boiling, gradually add 200 grams of ragi flour while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  3. Lower the heat and continue to cook the mixture, stirring it for about 10-15 minutes until it thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan.
  4. Once cooked, remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Grease your hands with a little ghee or water.
  5. Shape the mixture into round balls (mudde) while it's still warm; make sure not to burn your hands.
  6. Serve the ragi mudde warm with your favorite curry or lentil soup.
