Ingredients

  • Tapioca pearls - 200 grams
  • Chicken, diced - 150 grams
  • Onion, thinly sliced - 1 medium
  • Tomato, chopped - 1 medium
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Biryani masala - 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Green chilies, slit - 2
  • Cilantro, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Mint leaves, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Cooking oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - 500 ml

Steps

  1. Soak the tapioca pearls in water for 20 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a pan, heat oil over medium heat and sauté the sliced onions until golden brown.
  3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the diced chicken and cook until the chicken is no longer pink.
  5. Add the chopped tomato, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomato softens.
  6. Mix in the biryani masala, green chilies, cilantro, and mint leaves, cooking for another 2 minutes.
  7. Add the soaked tapioca pearls and water, and mix well. Bring to a boil.
  8. Cover the pan and reduce the heat to low, allowing it to simmer for 15 minutes or until the tapioca is cooked through.
  9. Remove from heat and drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
