Ingredients

  • Tapioca pearls - 200 grams
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - 10 leaves
  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coconut oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh coriander - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps

  1. Rinse the tapioca pearls under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak them in water for 30 minutes.
  2. In a pot, bring 500 ml of water to a boil, add the soaked tapioca pearls, and cook for about 10-15 minutes until they are translucent and soft.
  3. Drain the cooked tapioca and set aside.
  4. In a separate pan, heat coconut oil over medium heat, then add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  5. Add curry leaves and chopped green chili to the pan, sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Stir in turmeric powder and salt, then add the cooked tapioca to the pan, mixing well to coat the pearls with the spices.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring gently to combine everything.
  8. Remove from heat, stir in chopped fresh coriander, and serve hot with coconut chutney.
