- Lamb liver - 300 grams, cleaned and chopped
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Tomato - 1 medium, pureed
- Green chili - 1, slit
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves - a handful, chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 4 cups
- Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chili, cooking for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the pureed tomato and cook for about 5 minutes until the oil separates.
- Mix in the coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt, stirring well.
- Add the chopped liver to the pot, cooking until it changes color, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the water, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle garam masala and chopped coriander leaves into the soup, and stir well.
- Remove from heat, add lemon juice, and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional coriander if desired.
