Ingredients

  • Cashew nuts - 100 grams
  • Powdered sugar - 50 grams
  • Water - 30 ml
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Almonds (for garnish) - 5 grams

Steps

  1. Soak the cashew nuts in water for 2-3 hours, then drain and blend them into a smooth paste with a little water if needed.
  2. In a non-stick pan, combine the powdered sugar and water, and heat on medium flame until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Add the cashew paste and cardamom powder to the pan, stirring continuously to avoid any lumps.
  4. Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring continuously until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan (about 10-15 minutes).
  5. Transfer the mixture onto a greased plate or parchment paper, and flatten it with a spatula or your hands to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  6. Allow it to cool for a few minutes, then cut into diamond or square shapes.
  7. Garnish with slivered almonds and let it cool completely before serving.
