Ingredients
- Cashew nuts - 100 grams
- Powdered sugar - 50 grams
- Water - 30 ml
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Almonds (for garnish) - 5 grams
Steps
- Soak the cashew nuts in water for 2-3 hours, then drain and blend them into a smooth paste with a little water if needed.
- In a non-stick pan, combine the powdered sugar and water, and heat on medium flame until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Add the cashew paste and cardamom powder to the pan, stirring continuously to avoid any lumps.
- Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring continuously until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan (about 10-15 minutes).
- Transfer the mixture onto a greased plate or parchment paper, and flatten it with a spatula or your hands to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Allow it to cool for a few minutes, then cut into diamond or square shapes.
- Garnish with slivered almonds and let it cool completely before serving.
