- Firm Tofu - 250 grams, cubed
- Bell Pepper (Red) - 1 medium, sliced
- Bell Pepper (Green) - 1 medium, sliced
- Onion - 1 medium, sliced
- Tomato - 1 medium, chopped
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 inch, minced
- Green Chilies - 1-2, slit
- Cumin Seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam Masala - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric Powder - ½ teaspoon
- Red Chili Powder - ½ teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Oil (Coconut or Vegetable) - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh Coriander - for garnish
Steps
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into cubes.
- In a bowl, marinate the tofu cubes with turmeric powder, red chili powder, and a pinch of salt for 10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a kadai or wok over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
- Add minced garlic, ginger, and green chilies, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the sliced onions and stir-fry until they become translucent.
- Add the marinated tofu to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes, gently stirring to prevent sticking.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and chopped tomato. Cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Sprinkle coriander powder and garam masala over the stir-fry, and mix well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt to taste, and garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
