- Potatoes - 300 grams (peeled and boiled)
- Green peas - 100 grams (boiled)
- Carrot - 1 medium (grated)
- Onion - 1 small (finely chopped)
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon (grated)
- Green chili - 1 (finely chopped)
- Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons (chopped)
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Rice flour - 2 tablespoons (for binding)
- Oil - for shallow frying
Steps
- In a large bowl, mash the boiled potatoes thoroughly until smooth.
- Add the boiled green peas, grated carrot, chopped onion, ginger, green chili, and coriander leaves to the mashed potatoes.
- Mix in the cumin powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
- Add the rice flour to the mixture to help bind the ingredients together. Mix until well incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into round patties (tikkis).
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the tikkis in the pan.
- Fry the tikkis for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the tikkis from the pan and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with green chutney or yogurt dip.
