Ingredients

  • Prawns - 300 grams, cleaned and deveined

  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Green chilies - 2, slit
  • Bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
  • Kadai masala - 2 tablespoons
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat the cooking oil in a kadai or deep pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in the grated ginger, minced garlic, and slit green chilies; cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  5. Mix in the turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt; cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Add the diced bell pepper and sauté for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
  7. Stir in the kadai masala and cook for 1 minute to enhance the flavors.
  8. Add the cleaned prawns to the pan, stirring well to coat them in the spice mixture.
  9. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the prawns are cooked through and opaque.
  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
