- Kadai masala - 2 teaspoons (or a mix of coriander powder, cumin powder, and garam masala)
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cilantro - a handful, chopped (for garnish)
- Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Heat the cooking oil in a kadai or wok over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
- Stir in the grated ginger, minced garlic, and slit green chilies; cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and the oil starts to separate.
- Sprinkle in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and kadai masala; mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the diced bell pepper and sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender.
- Add the deveined prawns and salt; stir well to coat the prawns in the masala.
- Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the prawns are pink and cooked through.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with naan or steamed rice.
