Ingredients

  • Paneer - 200 grams
  • Bell peppers (mixed colors) - 100 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Tomatoes - 2 medium, pureed
  • Ginger - 1 inch, grated
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Green chilies - 2, slit
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat oil in a kadai over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Stir in the grated ginger, minced garlic, and slit green chilies; cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates from the mixture, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Mix in coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Add diced bell peppers and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes until they are slightly tender but still crisp.
  7. Add the paneer cubes gently and combine them with the masala. Cook for 5 minutes, allowing the paneer to absorb the flavors.
  8. Sprinkle garam masala on top, mix gently, and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
