  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon

  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion, finely chopped - 1 medium
  • Tomatoes, pureed - 2 medium
  • Capsicum (bell pepper), diced - 1 medium
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the diced lamb with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat mustard oil in a kadai (wok) over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add the finely chopped onion to the oil and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the marinated lamb and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Add the pureed tomatoes and cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oil separates from the mixture.
  6. Add the diced capsicum and cook for an additional 5 minutes until tender.
  7. Stir in chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice just before serving.
  8. Serve hot with whole wheat roti or steamed basmati rice.
