Ingredients
- Chicken, boneless - 400 grams
- Onion, finely chopped - 1 medium (150 grams)
- Tomato, pureed - 1 medium (100 grams)
- Bell pepper, diced - 1 medium (100 grams)
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cooking oil (preferably mustard or vegetable oil) - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Heat the cooking oil in a kadai or deep pan over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.
- Add the pureed tomato and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oil separates.
- Incorporate red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the diced chicken pieces, mix well, and cook for 5-7 minutes until they start to change color.
- Add the garam masala and diced bell pepper, mix well, and cover the pan. Cook for another 10-12 minutes on low heat until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with gluten-free rice or gluten-free flatbread.
