- Kadai masala (or garam masala) - 2 teaspoons
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish
Steps
- Heat the oil in a kadai or a large frying pan over medium heat.
- Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.
- Add the diced bell peppers and chopped tomatoes, cooking until the tomatoes soften.
- Incorporate the chicken pieces into the pan, stirring to coat them with the mixture.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Cover the kadai and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through.
- Once the chicken is done, sprinkle the kadai masala and mix well.
- Cook uncovered for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
