Ingredients
- Chicken breast - 300 grams, diced
- Bell peppers (red and green) - 100 grams, sliced
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Tomato - 1 medium, pureed
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Kadai masala (or garam masala) - 2 teaspoons
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
- Salt - to taste
- Cilantro - for garnish, chopped
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 100 ml
Steps
- Heat olive oil in a kadai or wok over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the diced chicken pieces and cook until they turn white.
- Mix in the turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt; cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the pureed tomato and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and water; cover and let it simmer for 10-12 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
- Sprinkle the kadai masala over the dish, mix well, and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
