Ingredients

  • Ground chicken or lamb - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Green chilies - 2, finely chopped
  • Cilantro (fresh coriander) - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Mint leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Bread crumbs - 1/4 cup
  • Egg - 1, beaten
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Onion - 1 small, sliced
  • Green chutney - 2 tablespoons
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken or lamb with chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, cilantro, mint, garam masala, cumin powder, red chili powder, salt, bread crumbs, and beaten egg. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet or grill over medium heat and add a little oil. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they are fully cooked and golden brown.
  4. While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the skillet.
  5. Assemble the burgers: Spread green chutney on the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, tomato slices, and onion slices. Add mayonnaise on the top half of the bun and close the burger.
  6. Serve immediately with your choice of side, such as fries or a salad.
