Ingredients

  • Quail - 4 whole (about 500g)
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lettuce leaves (for wrapping) - 8 large leaves
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100g, diced
  • Red onion - 50g, finely chopped
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lime - 1, juiced

Steps

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  3. Coat the quail with the marinade, ensuring they are evenly covered. Let them marinate for about 10 minutes.
  4. Place the marinated quail on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 74°C (165°F).
  5. Once cooked, remove the quail from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before deboning.
  6. While the quail rests, prepare the toppings by combining diced cherry tomatoes, red onion, chopped cilantro, and lime juice in a bowl.
  7. To assemble the tacos, take a lettuce leaf, add some deboned quail meat, and top with the tomato mixture and avocado slices.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your grilled quail tacos!
