Ingredients

  • Mackerel fillets - 2 pieces (about 200g each)
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt to create a marinade.
  2. Coat the mackerel fillets evenly with the marinade and let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat and brush it with coconut oil.
  4. Place the marinated mackerel fillets on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  5. Once cooked, remove the mackerel from the grill and let it rest for a minute.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
