Ingredients

  • Elk steaks - 400 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Fresh rosemary - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Fresh thyme - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Sea salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, paprika, black pepper, sea salt, and lemon juice to create the marinade.
  2. Place the elk steaks in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the elk steaks from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.
  5. Grill the elk steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  6. Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve the grilled elk steaks with fresh vegetables or a side salad for a complete meal.
