- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2 medium, sliced
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, combine ground elk meat, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, black pepper, salt, and chopped cilantro. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two burger patties, about 2.5 cm thick.
- Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Grill the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 71°C.
- Remove the patties from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a lettuce leaf, topped with avocado slices, tomato, and red onion.
