  • Ground elk meat - 400 grams

  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2 medium, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground elk meat, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, black pepper, salt, and chopped cilantro. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into two burger patties, about 2.5 cm thick.
  4. Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Grill the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 71°C.
  6. Remove the patties from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a lettuce leaf, topped with avocado slices, tomato, and red onion.
