Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia) - 300 grams
  • Coconut flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lettuce leaves (for wrapping) - 4 large leaves
  • Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Cilantro (fresh) - a handful, chopped
  • Lime - 1, cut into wedges

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix coconut flour, turmeric, cumin, coriander, red chili powder, salt, and black pepper to create a spice mix.
  2. Coat the fish fillets evenly with the spice mix, ensuring they are well covered.
  3. Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the spiced fish fillets and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily.
  4. Remove the cooked fish from the skillet and let it rest for a minute before breaking it into smaller pieces.
  5. To assemble the tacos, take a lettuce leaf, add a portion of the spiced fish, and top with sliced red onion and chopped cilantro.
  6. Serve with lime wedges on the side to squeeze over the tacos before eating.
