- Tomato (chopped) - 1 medium

- Garlic (finely chopped) - 1 teaspoon
- Green chili (slit) - 1
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Curry leaves - 8-10 leaves
- Oil (coconut or vegetable) - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh coriander (for garnish) - a handful
Steps
- Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat and add mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add the sliced onions, curry leaves, ginger, and garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
- Add the chopped tomato, green chili, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Cook until the tomatoes soften and the spices are fragrant.
- Stir in the coconut milk and bring to a gentle simmer. Add salt to taste.
- Once the coconut milk is simmering, add the fish fillet and prawns. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and the prawns turn pink.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with steamed rice or appams.
