  • Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 inch piece
  • Green chili (slit) - 1
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - 10 leaves
  • Cilantro (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil (coconut or vegetable) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add curry leaves, then sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, grated ginger, and slit green chili. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle turmeric, coriander, and cumin powders. Stir well and cook for another minute.
  6. Pour in the coconut milk and bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Add the fish fillets and prawns to the curry, cover, and cook for about 8-10 minutes until the seafood is cooked through.
  8. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
