- Water - 100 ml
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Oil for frying - 500 ml
Steps
- Cut the fish fillets into bite-sized pieces and marinate with lemon juice, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine besan, rice flour, garam masala, and salt. Gradually add water to form a smooth batter.
- Fold in the chopped coriander leaves into the batter.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Dip each piece of marinated fish into the batter, ensuring it is well coated.
- Carefully drop the coated fish pieces into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove the pakoras with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or tamarind sauce.
