- Fish fillets (like pomfret or tilapia) - 200 grams
- Cucumber - 1 small, diced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- 1. Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- 2. Season the fish with salt, black pepper, and half of the lemon juice. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- 3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- 4. Place the marinated fish fillets in the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- 5. While the fish is cooking, prepare the koshimbir by combining diced cucumber, tomato, onion, chopped coriander leaves, and green chili in a bowl.
- 6. Add the remaining lemon juice, salt to taste, and mix well.
- 7. Once the fish is done, remove it from the pan and place it on a serving plate.
- 8. Serve the fish hot, topped with the prepared koshimbir.
