Ingredients

  • Fish fillets (e.g., tilapia or pomfret) - 300 grams
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Rice flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Semolina (sooji) - 2 tablespoons
  • Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the fish fillets with turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. After marination, coat each fish fillet with rice flour and then with semolina for a crispy texture.
  3. Heat coconut oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the coated fish fillets in the pan and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  5. Remove the fish from the pan and place it on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges.
