- Tomato - 1 medium, chopped
- Green chilies - 1, slit (adjust to taste)
- Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish
Steps
- Heat coconut oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
- Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Add chopped tomatoes and slit green chilies, cooking until the tomatoes soften.
- Sprinkle in turmeric, coriander, cumin powder, and salt, stirring well to combine.
- Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Carefully add the fish head to the pot and reduce the heat to a simmer.
- Cover and let it cook for 25-30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the fish to cook through.
- Once done, gently remove the fish head, check for bones, and return the meat to the soup.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
