- Coconut (grated) - 2 tablespoons
- Mustard oil - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh coriander leaves - a handful (for garnish)
Steps
- Soak the mustard seeds in water for about 15 minutes, then drain.
- In a blender, combine the soaked mustard seeds, green chilies, turmeric powder, and salt to make a smooth paste, adding a little water if necessary.
- In a bowl, mix the fish with the mustard paste and grated coconut, ensuring the fish is well-coated.
- Drizzle the mustard oil over the fish and mix gently.
- Transfer the fish mixture to a steaming dish or a small bowl that fits inside a steamer.
- Prepare a steamer by boiling water in the bottom pot, then place the dish with fish on the steamer rack.
- Cover and steam the fish for about 20 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Once cooked, carefully remove from the steamer, garnish with fresh coriander leaves, and serve hot.
