Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (e.g., cod or haddock) - 300 grams
  • Sweet potatoes - 2 medium (approximately 400 grams)
  • Almond flour - 100 grams
  • Coconut flour - 50 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - for frying
  • Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into thin wedges to create chips.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato wedges with 1 tablespoon of ghee, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and spread the sweet potato wedges on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until crispy and golden, turning halfway through.
  4. While the chips are baking, prepare the fish. In one bowl, mix almond flour, coconut flour, turmeric, coriander, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  5. In another bowl, beat the egg.
  6. Dip each fish fillet into the egg, letting the excess drip off, then coat with the flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
  7. Heat enough ghee in a frying pan over medium heat to cover the bottom. Once hot, fry the coated fish fillets for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove the fish from the pan and let it drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve the crispy fish alongside the sweet potato chips, garnished with fresh coriander leaves.
