- Elk ground meat - 250 grams
- Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Sea salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Avocado - 1, sliced
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the elk ground meat, green onion, garlic, cilantro, beaten egg, cumin, smoked paprika, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Divide the meat mixture into 2 equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F).
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the toppings. Slice the avocado and tomato, and rinse the lettuce leaves.
- Once the burgers are done, assemble them by placing each patty on a lettuce leaf, topped with slices of avocado and tomato. You can add additional cilantro for garnish if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious elk burgers!
